W
ith markets worth roughly $5 trillion within an eight-
hour drive of Hartford, it's no wonder the tri-county
region has become a major player in the logistics and
distribution sector.
A prime location served by arterial roads, rail and air, a
talent pool from which to draw, government support of infrastructure and
competitive corporate tax rates are contributing factors to the growing
market. Key arteries include Interstates 84, 91 and 95, while air cargo gets a
li from the bustling Bradley International Airport.
Among high-profile companies locating or expanding in Hartford are
Amazon, Walgreens, Tire Rack and Trader Joe's. From a Hartford base, they
can reach 23% of the U.S. market and 85% of the Canadian market within
eight hours on the road.
