Much of the entertainment is
geared toward children, Restall
said, such as a baby goat race
in which children dress up in
goat suits and gambol across
the outfield.
"It's great baseball being
played, but the big focus is on
entertainment and food," he said.
"We always view the ballpark as
Connecticut's largest restaurant,"
offering "healthy options to not-
so-healthy options."

The Travelers Championship for
golf also rebounded well this year
aer no spectators were allowed
at the 2020 tournament because
of the pandemic.
Aendance was still limited
– to 10,000 a day, a third or a
quarter of the typical crowd, said
Andy Bessee, executive vice
president and chief administrative
officer of Travelers. The tourna-
ment ran from June 21 to June 27.
Even with lower limits on
crowds, concession sales were
almost the same as 2019, he said.
Travelers has been involved
with the tournament since it
debuted in 1952, and took over
the title sponsorship in 2007. In
those 14 years, more than $22
million has been generated for
more than 800 nonprofits.
All the proceeds go to
charity, Bessee said. The main
recipient of the more than $2
million raised in 2021 was The
Hole in the Wall Gang Camp, for
children coping with cancer and
other serious conditions.
The Travelers Championship
is "great for the community,
great for charity and great for the
brand," said Bessee, who called
it Connecticut's major league
sporting event.
