W ith markets worth roughly $5 trillion within an eight- hour drive of Hartford, it's no wonder the tri-county region has become a major player in the logistics and distribution sector. A prime location served by arterial roads, rail and air, a talent pool from which to draw, government support of infrastructure and competitive corporate tax rates are contributing factors to the growing market. Key arteries include Interstates 84, 91 and 95, while air cargo gets a li from the bustling Bradley International Airport. Among high-profile companies locating or expanding in Hartford are Amazon, Walgreens, Tire Rack and Trader Joe's. From a Hartford base, they can reach 23% of the U.S. market and 85% of the Canadian market within eight hours on the road.
