In addition, 26 attorneys were individually recognized and eight were ranked in the top band in their areas of practice. e fi rm also said shareholder Anthony Perkins was awarded the Maine Center for Entrepreneurial Development Compass Award for his many years of mentor- ship through the Top Gun business acceleration and development program. The Maine Credit Union League recently presented its annual awards. Winners included: John Doe, vice chair of the board at Eastmill FCU in East Millinocket, Alexander Ferguson Award for Outstanding CU Volunteer; Denise Dube, opera- tions manager at Lisbon Community FCU, Jeannette G. Morin Award for Outstanding CU Employee; Scott Chretien, president/CEO of York County FCU in Sanford, James M. Gratto Award for Outstanding Credit Union CEO; Jim Lemieux, president/CEO of Sebasticook Valley FCU in Pittsfi eld, League President's Award; Dorna Girardin, member service phone rep at Town & Country FCU in South Portland, Diane L. Oceretko 'People Helping People' Award; and Rod Rovzar, attorney for Norman, Hanson & DeTroy LLC, League Chairman's Award. United Way of York County presented its Elise Kittredge Award to the Hussey Family, owners of Hussey Seating Co. in North Berwick. e award recognizes a volunteer who has helped the orga- nization eff ect long-lasting changes in the community. The Animal Welfare Society in Kennebunk announced that it earned a 4-star rating from Charity Navigator, America's largest indepen- dent charity evaluator. Franklin Memorial Hospital in Farmington said that Beth Hartsock graduated with a doctorate degree in nursing practice from Simmons College in Boston. Hartsock provides inpatient care at the hospital. Kevin Hancock, president of Hancock Lumber, was selected as the 2016 Hon. Edmund S. Muskie Access to Justice Award winner. Hancock was recognized for his leadership in the community and the impact he has had in furthering access to justice in Maine and beyond. Drummond Woodsum, a law fi rm in Portland, announced that the 2016 Chambers USA Guide to America's Leading Lawyers highlighted the fi rm's Indian Law practice group as a national leader for the representation of tribes. A total of 19 of the fi rm's attorneys where recognized in various practice areas. Scott Balfour, presi- dent of Magnusson Balfour Commercial & Business Brokers , earned his Certifi ed Business Intermediary designation from the International Business Brokers Association Inc. Cushman Creative, a design agency in Port Clyde specializing in biomedi- cal and life science marketing, won two 2016 Hermes Creative Awards for its work with the MDI Biological Laboratory in Bar Harbor. e fi rm won gold for its 2014 annual report titled "Breaking rough" and a Platinum Award, the organization's top honor, for laboratory's case state- ment entitled "Catalyst for Cures." The Cod Cove Inn in Edgecomb announced that it has received a TripAdvisor Certifi cate of Excellence for 2016. Holly Shields, a personal insurance account execu- tive at L.S. Robinson Co. insurance in Southwest Harbor, recently achieved the designation of Accredited Customer Service Representative in Personal Lines from the Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of America. Fluid Imaging Technologies, a labora- tory instrumentation manufacturer in Scarborough, awarded its 2016 Aquatic Research Student Equipment and Travel Grant to Nicholas Ray, a student at Boston University, Department of Biology, Boston, Mass. under the supervision of Robinson Fulweiler. Ray's proposal, Bivalve Control of Coastal Phytoplankton Communities, was selected after a series of in-depth reviews by a panel of independent aquatic scientists.
