Winners included: Circular Block Building, Bangor, Robert Perry Builders; Capital Judicial Center, Augusta, Maine Judicial Branch; Press Hotel, Portland, Brady Enterprises; The Mill at Dover- Foxcroft, Arnold Development Group; West End Place, Portland, LWS Investments and Redfern Properties; and Pepperell Mill Campus, Biddeford, Doug Sanford. The Maine Department of Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry recognized Pat and Dave Thompson with its Frank Knight Community Service Award during its 2016 Maine Arbor Week Celebration. e ompsons are Orono Tree Board members and volunteers. The Damariscotta Region Chamber of Commerce announced its annual award winners including Ted Silar as the winner of the Individual Community Service Award; Community Energy Fund, Organization Community Service Award winner; Dow Furniture, Business Enhancement Award winner; and Randall Miller, Business Person of the Year. Kennebec Valley Community College in Augusta presented Churchill Elangwe with its Distinguished Alumni Award during the college's 46th commence- ment exercises. Elangwe, a 2006 grad- uate of the college's electrical tech- nology program, is a quality assur- ance engineer at Wunderlich-Malec, an engineering fi rm in Winslow. The Maine Wood Products Association in Topsham announced Little Harbor Window Co. in Berwick was selected as its Pine Tree Award winner and Maine Grilling Woods LLC in Waldo as its Pine Cone Award winner. Allen Insurance and Financial in Camden announced that Meesha Luce, Leann McMusic, Chris Wilson and Diane Zollo are now licensed to sell life insurance in Maine. All four are personal insur- ance account managers in the fi rm's Rockland offi ce. Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage in New England honored its top-50 affi liated sales associates, including Betsy Ames-Fitzgerald, Kennebunkport; David Gleason, Brunswick; and Bryce Hamilton, Portland. Maine Association of Nonprofi ts announced the participants of its fourth annual Nonprofi t Leadership Institute. e program supports new executive direc- tors who have been on the job for three or fewer years build strategic manage- ment skills. Verrill Dana, a law fi rm in Portland, was rated as a Leading Firm in six Maine categories and three sub-categories evaluated by Chambers & Partners, a legal research and publishing fi rm. A total of 39 attorneys from the fi rm were recognized, including 28 in Maine. e fi rm also announced that it was listed as a "Notable Firm" in Maine for its Intellectual Property practice in Managing Intellectual Property's 2016 IP Stars Guide. James Goggin, Tim Shannon and Thomas Newman were all individually recognized for the second consecutive year, with special recog- nition for a recent victory helping to cancel the trademark on the term "fi re cider," a common product made by small herb farms.
