www.wbjournal.com Worcester Business Journal Giving Guide 2017 17 WHO WE ARE Brit's Home located in Grand-Goâve, Haiti was built to honor the memory of Britney Gengel, who died tragically in the 2010 Haiti earthquake along with approximately 300,000 others. To honor her life and to honor her commitment to those less fortunate among us, weʼve built this home which is now home to 33 boys and 33 girls, symbolic of the 33 days Brit was missing. Be Be L I K E BR I T B E L I K E B R I T F O U N D A T I O N , I N C B E L I K E B R I T F O U N D A T I O N , I N C The Be Like Brit Operations Center, which we call "The OC" , is located in Worcester, MA. The OC houses our administrative offices and donation warehouse. We have dozens of volunteer opportunities for individuals and groups. We also welcome school groups to become more involved with our mission and volunteering by becoming a Be Like Brit Club! From volunteering your time, to donating towards our mission, there are so many ways you can get involved with Be Like Brit. To learn more about how you can help, please visit our website - www.BeLikeBrit.org HOW TO GET INVOLVED Be Like Brit calls those who visit Brit's Home in Haiti "Britsionarys". Our Britsionary program was created to provide an opportunity for volunteers to gain a better understanding of global partnerships and cultures. Short-term Britsionary groups spend up to a week at Brit's Home in Haiti, to help with youth and community outreach projects, immerse themselves in the Haitian culture and of course see our beautiful 66 kids.
