32 Giving Guide 2017 Worcester Business Journal www.wbjournal.com Harrington HealthCare System Future Goals • To conduct a capital campaign to expand, modernize and better secure our Emergency Department on our Southbridge Campus. • To develop a women's health center focused on improving access to pre- and post-natal maternity care and all other obstetric, gynecologic and urogynecology services, cardiac care, mammography, cancer care and behavioral health services. • To keep pace with the demand for patient-centered services for oncology and hematology diseases at our nationally-accredited Cancer Center on our Southbridge Campus. • To expand Harrington's behavioral health service line into northeastern Connecticut to provide better access to child and family therapy and recovery services. The need is great as mental health and substance use disorders are at an all-time high, regionally and nationally. Fundraising Events/Opportunities • Commitment to the Community Emergency Services Capital Campaign - Southbridge: Help fortify and expand our Emergency Department by making a charitable gift of cash, credit or securities. Volunteer Opportunities By volunteering at Harrington, you'll gain satisfaction and experience, expand your social network and receive recognition for your efforts. We try to match your interests and skills, offering you a wide range of placement opportunities that include Auxiliary member, environmental services, special projects, pastoral outreach, gift shop, occupational & physical therapy, courtesy golf car drivers, greeters, office assistance, patient pals, transport services, dietary & nutrition services, silver knitters/sewing & crafters committees, and Cancer Center. Giving Opportunities • Participate in the Power of One Campaign to support Domestic Violence Prevention Education efforts. The campaign will run from January 1, 2018 - April 1, 2018; however, YOU decide how long to participate. To sign up, send an email to Karen at kspiewak@harringtonhospital.org letting her know what it is you would like to do (e.g. donate $1 from a service or product sold; hold a jeans day, ask customers to donate $1, or whatever creative idea you may have) and the dates you would like to participate.
