The brewery, Walden Woods Brewing, will be owned by Chris Brown and Alida Orzechowski, brewers with a combined 20 years of experience in the field. Walden Woods is the first brewery to take advantage of a program through the Marlborough Economic Development Corp. giving brewers and restaurateurs $25,000 for rent and equipment expenses to establish them- selves in the city. Sutton shopping center replacing soccer fields The Pleasant Valley Crossing shop- ping center in Sutton has expanded by nearly four acres with the purchase of adjacent soccer fields. The site at Route 146 and Boston Road will host a multi-tenant 19,000-square-foot building and a standalone 5,500-square-foot restau- rant, with construction starting this fall. A lease is pending for the restaurant. The first phase of Pleasant Valley Crossing features a Market 32 by Price Shopper - the first such branded gro- cery store by the New York chain. Hudson solar firm picks new CEO & COO A week after hiring a new CEO, New England Clean Energy promoted one of its more seasoned executives to become its first ever chief operating officer. Evan Vana, who joined the company at the beginning of the year as director of supply chain, is now COO of the Hudson company. The new position was created in part to take advantage of Vana's skills and 13 years of experi- ence. The company in July announced Doug McCartney was named its next CEO to help the company transition into a new phase of the solar industry. McCartney replaced Jim Elkind.
