It may take at least six years for the communities to see any savings, but ReVision projects the savings could total $3 million over the 40-year life of the projects. UNE names new president e University of New England announced today that James Herbert, executive vice provost and dean of the graduate college at Drexel University in Philadelphia, will be the next president of the university. He will assume office on July 1, immediately after the close of the 11-year tenure of President Danielle Ripich, who was honored last March as Mainebiz's 2016 Nonprofit Business Leader of the Year for her role in UNE's growth in enrollment and programs since becoming president in September 2006. The Portland Food Council recently launched its strategic plan, including a goal to increase the sourcing of healthy, local and sustainably produced foods by Portland institutions and public schools. The council is comprised of 15 board members, representing 13 food-related organizations and two com- munity members, and will have several working groups related to issues such as food access and support for the working waterfront.
