Greg Burgess, LEED AP and com- missioning services manager at SMRT Architects and Engineers in Portland, earned the Association of Energy Engineers' Certifi ed Energy Manager credential, which denotes professionals who optimize the energy performance of a facility, building or industrial plant. Inland Hospital in Waterville said that President and CEO John Dalton was named as one of the "60 Rural Hospital CEOs to Know" by Becker's Hospital Review, a national publication. Paul Smith, line manager at Maine Instrument Flight in Augusta, achieved the National Air Transportation Association's Safety First Certifi cates for the FBO-Fixed Base Operator, Supervisor and Fuel Service Supervisor. Habib Dagher, executive director of the University of Maine's Advanced Structures and Composites Center in Orono, was named one of "2016's Top 25 Newsmak- ers" by Engineering-News Record. The Maine Real Estate & De velopment Association recently presented its 2017 awards. Winners included Lawrence Wold, president in Maine for TD Bank, " e Robert B. Patterson Jr. Founders' Award;" Michael O'Reilly, senior vice president and southern Maine commer- cial team lead for Bangor Savings Bank, " e President's Award;" Theresa Hodge, senior vice president and senior com- mercial lender at Bath Savings Institution, and Josh Fifi eld, account executive in the business insurance department at Clark Insurance, "Volunteer of the Year Award;" and Rick Licht, founder and president of Licht Environmental Design, " e Public Policy Award." Holly Shields, a personal insurance account manager at L.S. Robinson Co. in Southwest Harbor, was named "2016 Affi liate Member of the Year" by the Acadia Council of REALTORS. Portland Police Chief Michael Sauschuck was named the "David W. Pickering Chief 's Award" winner as police chief of the year by the Maine Association of Police. In addition, Portland offi - cer Jeff Hawkins received the "Larry Gross Cop's Cop Award" and offi cer Christian Stickney of Portland PD and North Edge K-9 received the "President's Recognition Award." Drummond Woodsum, a law fi rm in Portland, announced that attorney Ed Benjamin Jr. was awarded the President's Recognition Award by the Maine Association of Police. Benjamin special- izes in defending police offi cers and their employers in litigation arising out of their public safety functions. The city of Auburn said that Fire Chief Geoffrey Low earned the professional designation of Chief Fire Offi cer awarded by the Center for Public Safety Excellence. Cary Medical Center in Caribou announced that Kris Doody, registered nurse and CEO, was named as one of the "60 Rural Hospital CEOs to Know" by Becker's Hospital Review, a national publication.
