The three- for-two stock split is payable Sept. 30, 2016, to its common sharehold- ers of record at the close of business on Sept. 15, 2016. Shareholders will receive cash in lieu of any fractional share of common stock that they otherwise would have been entitled to receive in connection with the split, except that participants in the com- pany's Dividend Reinvestment & Direct Stock Purchase and Sale Plan will have fractional shares credited to their accounts. The price paid for fractional shares will be the closing price the last trading day immediately prior to the record date. The Bucksport Fire and Ambulance Department received a $25,000 federal grant through the Assistance to Firefi ghters Grant program to help purchase a cardiac monitor, pagers, tablets and monitoring equipment. The Bucksport Fire and Emergency Medical Services' Fire Prevention and Smoke Detector Installation program received $240,595 from the Fire Prevention and Safety Grant Program, which is part of the Federal Emergency Management Agency's Assistance to Firefi ghters Grants Program. The grant will help cover the cost of purchasing and installing 10-year smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors for ap- proximately 2,400 homes in Bucksport and Verona Island.
