Other nominees included: Mary Cyr, wound care; Valerie Farrington, intensive care unit; April Smith, medical/surgical unit; and Tammy White, day surgery. e National Association of Certifi ed Valuators and Analysts named Seth Webber as its Outstanding Member Award winner. e award, given quar- terly, recognizes commitment to the organization and advancing the profes- sion. Webber is a principal at BerryDunn. e Environmental Protection Agency's New England regional offi ce announced four Maine winners of its 2016 Environmental Merit Awards. Martin Smith, Great Works Regional Land Trust in Ogunquit, was selected for a Lifetime Achievement Award; Penobscot Energy Recovery Co. in Orrington a Business, Industries and Technology award; and Ogunquit Conservation Commission, an Enviro, Community, Academia and Nonprofi t award. In addition, the State Performance Partnership Improvement Team consisting of Susan Carlson, Vincent Perelli, Ted Diers, Wendy Waskin and John Duclos of the New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services; Jeff Crawford, Maine Department of Environmental Protection; Terry Gray, Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management; Carey Hengstenberg, Vermont Department of Environmental Conservation; Nicole Lugli, Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection; and Deneen Simpson, Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection won a Governmental award. e National Arbor Day Foundation, the largest nonprofi t membership organization dedicated to planting trees, recognized Central Maine Power Co., a subsidiary of AVANGRID Inc., as a Tree Line USA Utility for 2015. Sound Physicians announced that Mayo Regional Hospital in Dover- Foxcroft won a PX Achievement Award in Q1 2016. e award is presented to a hospital in the Eastern U.S. for patient experience based on patient's surveys refl ecting hospital stay and their provider's ability to explain, communicate and listen to their needs. GCMD, a web design and creative agency in Portland, won an American Web Design Award for the agency's recently rebuilt website www.GCMD.Agency. The Maine Small Business Development Centers, a statewide program that helps entrepreneurs start and grow their busi- nesses, said that Joshua Nadeau received a Core Competencies Professional Certifi cation from the New England Professional Development group. Nadeau is a center director and certifi ed business advisor at the Northern Maine Development Commission in Caribou. David Jean earned BEI Certifi ed Exit Planner designation. Jean is director of Portland-based Altus Exit Strategies, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Albin, Randall & Bennett CPAs. Maine Medical Center in Portland said Deborah Hoch was recognized with the American Association of Nurse Practitioners 2016 State Award for Excellence. Hoch is a nurse prac- titioner in the hospital's Division of Transplant Medicine.
