MWMC includes Framingham Union Hospital in Framingham and Leonard Morse Hospital in Natick. MWMC remains an independent organization with its own board. The VA Central Western Massachusetts Healthcare System and UMass Medical School opened a new VA specialty care clinic on the medical school campus in Worcester. The clinic, known as the VA annex, will provide services to veterans including podiatry, optometry and audiology, so veterans won't have to travel to other VA New England facilities. Prana Recovery Centers, a residential addiction facility, has opened in Marlborough. The nonprofit organization is run by Kelly McCausland and specializes in relapse prevention for people sober for at least two weeks. Clemons and Anthony Polito were honored by Heywood Healthcare of Gardner at its annual awards dinner. Sbrega, president and CEO of GFA Federal Credit Union, was given the Heywood Healthcare Community Health Hero Award. Clemons, the superintendent of Gardner Public Schools and Polito, superintendent of Athol-Roylston Regional School District, received the healthcare system's Collaborator 's Award, for efforts to help improve access to behav- ioral health services. Ford, CEO of the nonprofit Three Pyramids in Fitchburg, and Chelsey M. Patriss, coordinator and grants manager for Community Health Network of North Central Massachusetts, to its Community Outreach Committee. Six Central Massachusetts physicians groups have been named to Harvard Pilgrim Health Care's 14th annual Physician Group Honor Roll: Central Massachusetts Independent Physician Association of Worcester; Charles River Medical Associates of Natick; Harrington Physician Hospital Organization of Southborough; Reliant Medical Group of Worcester; Tri-County Medical Associates of Milford; and UMass Memorial Health Care. Worcester's Beaumont Rehabilitation & Skilled Nursing Center earned The Joint Commission's Gold Seal of Approval for Nursing Care Center Accreditation. The award is given to facilities that show continuous compliance with commission standards in training, coordination of care and other categories. Natick Visiting Nurse Association was named to the Top 500 of the 2015 HomeCare Elite, which identifies the top 25 percent of agencies and highlights the top 100 and top 500 agencies overall. Winners are ranked by quality outcomes. Dr. Warren J. Ferguson has been honored by the Worcester District Medical Society as Community Clinician of the Year. He will receive the award at the district's annual meeting April 13. Ferguson is vice chair of the Department of Family Medicine and Community Health at UMass Medical School, a professor in the department and medical director of the school's Massachusetts Area Health Education Centers Network.
