Lisa Veregge, president and CEO of the Maine Insurance Agents Association in Hallowell, was recently renewed as a Certifi ed Association Executive with American Society of Association Executives. Delta Ambulance in Waterville recently recognized its employees for their accomplishments in excellence. Clinical Standards and Practices Awards Stars Award winners were Steve Winn, Chris Mitchell, Rory Routhier, Shon Dixon, Jay P ngst, Dan Mayotte and Nick Jackson; Silent Hero: Brad Wing; Patient Care: Jay Vachon and Erika Thayer; Peer Recognition: Allison Quick and Andrew LaChance; and Community Service: Nick Richards and Gene Hassen. PC Construction in Portland ranked 147th in the annual national rank- ing of Engineering News-Record magazine's list of top 400 contractors and No. 47 in the magazine's top 200 environmental fi rms. Clayton Bell, a third-year resident at Rumford Hospital in the Rural Track Residency Program, was named the Maine Hospital Association Caregiver of the Year. Norman Huynh, assistant conduc- tor and community liaison with the Portland Symphony Orchestra, received the 2015 Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy Scholarship from American Friends of the Mendelssohn Foundation. e award will allow Huynh to spend three weeks in Germany and work with world-renowned conductor Kurt Masur, music director emeritus of the New York Philharmonic and conductor laureate of the Gewandhaus Orchestra. Kerry Altiero, chef at Café Miranda in Rockland, was selected best chef and Hazelwood Handyman in Kennebunkport was named best builder by Down East Magazine in its "Best of Maine" for 2015. Berman & Simmons, a law fi rm in Portland, was ranked by Chambers USA as the best law fi rm in Maine in the Litigation: Mainly Plaintiff prac- tice area with Steven Silin, Julian Sweet, Jodi Nofsinger and Benjamin Gideon rec- ognized as top lawyers for plaintiff s. In addition, partner Jack Simmons was honored as a Senior Statesman. United Way of Androscoggin County presented L.L.Bean with the Spirit of the Androscoggin Award for its commitment to our communities and continued support of the orga- nization. Additionally, Chip Morrison, former CEO of Androscoggin County Chamber of Commerce in Lewiston, Terri and Bart Kelsea, community volunteers in Lewiston/Auburn, and Andie Hannon, unit director of the Boys & Girls Club of Southern Maine Auburn/ Lewiston Clubhouse in Auburn, with Community Builder Awards. e city of Portland announced that Creative Portland won a Creative Economy Award from the New England Foundation for the Arts as part of the New England-wide Creative Communities Exchange. SymQuest Group Inc., an information technology company in Westbrook, presented its President's Award for excellence in community involvement to Meg Fleming. Fleming is the fi rm's director of document sales for the Maine sales region. Gerald Cayer, executive vice presi- dent of Franklin Memorial Hospital in Farmington, was named the hospital's Caregiver of the Year. Midcoast Regional Redevelopment Authority Executive Director Steve Levesque was presented the 2015 Community Leadership Award from the Association of Defense Communities for the rede- velopment of the former Naval Air Station Brunswick.
