26 HEALTH • June 15, 2015 { Newsworthy } People, providers and practices Clinton Hospital's Rehabilitation Department was awarded the 2015 Clinical Site of Excellence Award from the School of Physical Therapy at the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences (MCPHS). This award is given annual to a clinical site that best demonstrates excellence in quality of learning for students. Reliant Medical Group and Southboro Medical Group were selected for Harvard Pilgrim Health Care's 13th annual Physician Group Honor Roll. Reliant and Southboro were two of 27 to be recognized with distinction out of 106 eligible providers. Separately, Reliant was honored by Becker's Hospital Review, an industry publication, as one of "150 Great Places to Work in Healthcare." In addition, the workplace recognition program Achievers named Reliant one of the "50 Most Engaged Workplaces in North America." Felicia Greim received certification as a wound, ostomy and continence nurse specialist. Greim has been employed at GVNA HealthCare in Gardner since 2011 as an RN case manager in the homecare program. Edward M. Kennedy Community Health Center of Worcester received NCQA Patient-Centered Medical Home Recognition from the National Committee for Quality Assurance. The NCQA Patient- Centered Medical Home is a model of primary care that combines teamwork and information technology to improve care, improve patients' experiences, and reduce costs. The UMass Memorial - HealthAlliance Hospital Radiology Department in Leominster recently received accreditation in both breast ultrasound and low-dose CT lung cancer screenings. [ MOV ERS & SHAKERS ] BOB DUMONT of Fitchburg was hired as a full- time respiratory therapist by Holden Rehabilitation & Skilled Nursing Center. He has worked in the field of respiratory care for over 37 years. ANITA MORRIS was named director of practice transformation in UMass Medical School's Commonwealth Medicine division's Office of Healthcare Innovation and Quality in Worcester. During the 1990s, at the Laguna Beach Community Clinic, she ran the HIV testing and education program during the height of the AIDS epidemic. In 2001, she joined East Boston Neighborhood Health Center and served as health center chief operations officer from 2012 to 2014. Morris then began a consulting practice, and has been working as a consultant at Lowell Community Health Center. She continues her clinical practice in the chronic disease education and management department at the East Boston Neighborhood Health Center. Morris graduated from McGill University, Montreal, with a bachelor's degree in history. She received a master's degree in nursing from the MGH Institute of Health Professions in Boston. Morris is a bilingual health care provider. DRS. JENNIFER YATES and MITCHELL SOKOLOFF have been hired by Harrington Physician Services, based in Charlton, as urologic-oncologists. Harrington Physician Services is an affiliate of Harrington HealthCare System. Dr. Yates received her medical degree from St. Louis University and is an assistant professor of urology at University of Massachusetts Medical School. She completed a residency at Rhode Island Hospital and a fellowship at Hackensack University Medical Center in N.J. Dr. Sokoloff is board certified in urology. He received his medical degree from Stanford University, then completed a residency from UCLA Medical Center and a fellowship from the University of Virginia Medical Center. He is chair of urology of UMass Memorial Medical Center and a professor and chair of the urology department at UMass Medical School. DR. HECTOR F. SIMOSA was hired by Worcester-based Reliant Medical Group's Department of Vascular Surgery. He will see patients at Saint Vincent Hospital and Southborough Medical Group. Simosa received his medical degree from Escuela de Medicina "Luis Razetti" at La Universidad Central de Venezuela in Caracas, Venezuela. He then completed general surgery residencies at the Medical College of Virginia Hospitals in Richmond and at Boston University Medical Center, followed by a vascular surgery fellowship at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston. He is board certified by the American Board of Surgery-General Surgery and the American Board of Surgery -General Vascular Surgery. COREY LEBLANC was named director of therapy operations for Fairlawn Rehabilitation Hospital in Worcester. He was previously the hospital's physical therapy rehabilitation manager and a staff physical therapist. LeBlanc earned a master's degree in physical therapy from Boston University, and a doctorate in physical therapy from Simmons College in Boston. He is a resident of Holden. ROBERT G. ORIOL was elected chair of the board of Worcester- based nonprofit Children's Friend. He is president and CEO of Oriol Health Care in Holden. GARY CARSKADDAN has been elected first vice-chair. Carskaddan is director of development at The College of the Holy Cross in Worcester. Other officers elected were PETER A. DUPELL, treasurer; SUZANNE WEEKES, clerk; and DOROTHY A. DUDLEY, executive committee member. Joining the board of directors was RENÉE KUBLBECK. JEFFREY W. HILLIS, president of AdCare Hospital in Worcester, was named chair of the National Association of Psychiatric Health Systems (NAPHS) Addiction Treatment Committee. Hillis is also a member of the NAPHS Board of Trustees. He has a bachelor's degree from Stonehill College in Easton, and a juris doctor and MBA from Suffolk University in Boston. DR. SEEMA NARAVANE has been appointed chair of the Reliant Medical Group Board of Trustees, one of the changes as a result of Reliant's merger with Southboro Medical Group. She replaces DR. LEON JOSEPHS, Reliant's acting CEO. Other new members of the board are DR. STEPHEN BUCHANAN, DR. MICHAEL COOPER, DR. CHRISTIAN CORREIA, DR. MARY ELLEN DUGAN, DR. ALAN LOBOVITS, KATHLEEN GIBNEY, LISA SCOPA and LINDA SHYAVITZ. Buchanan, Cooper (vice chair) and Correia all practice family medicine in Framingham. Dugan is a pediatrician based in Southborough. Lobovits, who served as president of Southboro Medical Group until the merger, is a pediatrician in Framingham. Gibney is a payroll tax manager at The TJX Cos. in Framingham. Scopa is vice president of high- growth markets at Staples in Framingham. Shyavitz recently retired as president and CEO of Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleborough. DR. DENNIS M. DIMITRI was elected president of the Massachusetts Medical Society. He is a clinical associate professor and vice chair of the Department of Family Medicine & Community Health at UMass Memorial Medical Center and UMass Medical School. A resident of Worcester, he was an officer of the organization for the last two years, serving as president-elect and vice president, respectively.
