We are competitive because of our consistency at providing a great experi- ence for many generations at our miniature golf and ice cream parlor. The original owners would be surprised that what they started 53 years ago is still in existence, now serving its fifth generation of customers. They would also be happy and surprised at the special events and involve- ment we have in the community. What is the biggest challenge to your business in the coming year? The 33rd Annual Pat Guglielmo Memorial Farmington Miniature Golf Tournament Aug. 16-17 netted $492 for the Jimmy Fund and the UConn Children's Cancer Fund. Original owner Virgina Frey owned the course with husband Bill, who passed away in 1972. The family atmosphere continues at Fancy Bagels, where the third generation helps out. A newspaper clipping shows the early days of Fancy Bagels, where the family pitched in from the beginning. Dominick Gualtieri bought the Southington location from the Gallizzis in 2002, and he combined forces with Salvatore Belcaro (the founder's nephew) to run the two locations together as one business.
