Her career began in Chicago with national archi- tectural and environmental firms, followed by 25 years in Connecticut's construction industry. She oversees all aspects of 7 Summits, and her understanding of market trends, client needs, and relationship development has driven company growth. She previously held Vice Presi- dent roles at Downes and Newfield Construction. What challenges have you faced as a woman in the construction industry, and how have you overcome them? Early in my career, there were few women and even few- er mentors. I learned to navigate through trial and error, working harder than anyone else to prove my worth. Over time, I discovered that standing firm in my convictions and presenting thoughtful solutions built both respect and confidence. What skills or strengths do you believe have contributed most to your success in this field? Building genuine relationships has been key to my success. Trust fosters collaboration, transparency, and growth. I also enjoy problem-solving, driving initiatives, and volunteering for challenges others may avoid. These traits have helped me cultivate strong partnerships and continuously expand both my professional network and organizational success. What advice would you give to young women considering a career in construction? Go for it. The construction industry has become far more inclusive, and female talent is highly valued. A combination of technical knowledge and business acumen opens doors to leadership.
