Hartford law firm Alderman & Alderman LLC has hired Amy J. Taylor as a senior associate in its commercial litigation and insolvency practices. Taylor previously practiced at Sullivan & Cromwell LLP and worked at Goldman Sachs, focusing on commercial litigation, arbitration, enforcement actions and contested bank- ruptcy cases. A Univer- sity of Connecticut grad, she earned her law degree from Duke University in 2019. The Health Collective, formerly the Hartford Gay and Lesbian Health Collective, has appointed Chief Operating Officer Anthony DiLizia as executive director. A U.S. Army veteran, DiLizia served two contracts in the U.S. Army over six years, including deploy- ments to the Middle East and leadership roles in behavioral health operations. He holds a bachelor's degree in business administration and is pursuing an executive MBA at Yale University. Brian Carcaterra, a commercial real estate professional with two decades of experience, has rejoined New York- based Newmark Group Inc. as execu- tive managing director of its Stamford office. In his new role, Carcaterra will represent tenants and landlords in commercial lease deals and provide advisory services in Fairfield and Westchester counties, Newmark said. He last worked for Newmark as a principal from January 2003 to September 2012. Carcaterra joins Newmark after working most recently as executive vice president at Stamford-based Building and Land Technology (BLT), where he oversaw leasing across an 8 million- square-foot national office portfolio. The Connecticut Business & Industry Association named Alyssa Gorecki its new chief financial officer. She will succeed Mary Bergamo, who is retiring after 36 years with the organization. Gorecki will oversee financial planning, compliance and reporting for CBIA and its affiliates, as well as human resources, office administration and information technology. Gorecki is a CPA and a graduate of the University of Connecticut. KeyBank has named Brendan Theroux a relationship manager for commercial banking, serving middle-market clients in Connecticut and Massachusetts. A UConn graduate with more than a decade of commercial banking experience, Theroux is based in KeyBank's Hartford office. He previously was first vice president of commercial lending at PeoplesBank in West Hartford. He was also a vice president, commercial relationship manager at M&T Bank. Law firm Shipman & Goodwin LLP has added Cynthia "Cyd" L. Smith as a partner in its real estate practice group. Smith, who has more than 20 years of experience representing owners, developers, landlords, tenants and contrac- tors, joins Shipman from Whitman Breed, where she led the real estate group. She previously served as associate general counsel for a national real estate company. Admitted in Connecticut and New York, Smith's work includes leasing, financing, acquisition and development of retail, office and mixed-use properties, as well as tax appeals and high-end residential projects.
