Yale New Haven Health expands Greater Hartford urgent care footprint Yale New Haven Health (YNHH) continues to add urgent care clinics in Hartford County, recently marking the opening of a new site in Glastonbury. YNHH acquired PhysicianOne Urgent Care in October 2023 and rebranded it as Yale New Haven Health Urgent Care. At the time, PhysicianOne had 18 locations in Connecticut, six in Massachusetts and three in New York. YNHH now operates more than 20 urgent care centers overall. In addi- tion to the Glastonbury center at 2955 Main St., Hartford County locations include Bristol, Enfield, Manchester and West Hartford. "Yale New Haven Health's presence in Hartford County marks an exciting milestone for our health system as we continue to grow our services across the state," said YNHH CEO Christopher O'Connor. Urgent care centers offer access to treatment when an illness or injury does not require care in an emer- gency department, or an immediate visit to a primary care doctor is not possible. Yale New Haven Health Urgent Care centers treat wounds, sprains, strains and burns; provide school, camp and sports physicals; treat pediatric injuries and concerns, including strep throat, ear infections, eye infections and flu; and perform X-rays. CT businesses to see 6% decrease in workers' comp rates in 2025 Connecticut businesses will receive a 6% decrease in workers' compensation rates next year, the state announced. The decrease, which will take effect on Jan. 1, represents the 11th consecutive year of a decline in rates, state officials said. The state Insurance Department said it has approved an annual workers' compensation rate filing for 2025 with a decrease of 6.1% to the voluntary market loss costs and a 6.2% decrease in assigned risk plan rates. Both of those decreases are smaller than those approved for 2024, when the voluntary market loss costs dropped 9.8% and the assigned risk plan rates fell 10.5%. The trend of rates declining for more than a decade reflects a continued decrease in workplace injuries and filed claims, the department said. This 194-acre CT property with a clay-mining pond can be yours for $6M A 194.3-acre property in South Windsor has hit the market like a ton of bricks. The former brick manufacturing plant at 1440 John Fitch Blvd., which spans 149,000 square feet across six buildings, is for sale for $6 million. The site is owned by Redland Brick Inc., which excavated clay and manufactured bricks at the location for nearly a century. However, the company vacated the property a couple of years ago, according to a broker involved in the deal. Redland Brick was acquired by Brick- works North America Corp. in 2019. The site contains a 30-acre clay- mining pond and is served by a railroad siding operated by CSX. It has more than 5 acres of paved and gravel outside storage with parking. The seller is represented by JLL Managing Director Shawn McMahon (shawn.mcmahon@jll.com). BerryDunn expands New England footprint with acquisition of CT accounting firm Maine's largest accounting firm BerryDunn said it has acquired East Haven-based CPA firm Burzenski & Co., in an effort to expand its veteri- nary and construction practices. Terms of the deal, which became effective Dec. 1, were not disclosed. Established in 1983, Burzenski has worked with more than 150 clients in the veterinary industry. The firm also provides financial management and tax planning services for general contrac- tors, subcontractors, developers, real estate agents and home builders. It will assume the BerryDunn name, while continuing to operate from its East Haven office. The acquisition will enable Berry- Dunn to expand into the veterinary practice market and add to its existing construction practice. It will also add 34 people to the BerryDunn team. 1440 John Fitch Blvd., in South Windsor. PHOTO | COSTAR
