With future uncertain, Eversource-owned Aquarion Water announces leadership change Bridgeport-based Aquarion Water Co. announced that its top executive, President Donald Morrissey, will retire at the end of the year. He will be replaced by Lucy Teixeira, who is currently vice presi- dent of customer and administrative services. Morrissey's last day on the job will be Dec 31. The leadership change comes as Aquarion faces an uncertain future. Earlier this year, Aquarion's parent company, Ever- source Energy, announced it would consider selling the water company amid a need to "reduce equity needs and improve regulatory diversity." The potential sale announcement came as Aquarion was battling the Public Utilities Regulatory Authority over a rate increase request. CBIZ Inc., a financial, insurance and advisory services firm based in Cleveland with more than 120 offices across the country, announced that it entered into an agreement to acquire New York- based Marcum LLP by the fourth quarter of this year. The acquisi- tion will make CBIZ the seventh- largest accounting firm in the country with about $2.8 billion in annual revenue, the company said. Marcum currently has 3,500 accounting professionals across 43 offices in the U.S., including in Hartford, West Hartford, New Haven, Farmington and Greenwich. As of the third quarter of 2023, Marcum was the seventh-largest accounting firm in Greater Hart- ford with 47 local CPAs and 106 total employees, according to Hartford Business Journal's Book of Lists. It also reported 132 Connecticut CPAs and 337 total employees in the state.
