Individual tickets for the 2024 Travelers Championship are sched- uled to go on sale in April; corporate packages are already available. The Travelers Championship has generated more than $28 million for over 900 local charities since Trav- elers became title sponsor in 2007, the organization said. By Greg Bordonaro gbordonaro@hartfordbusiness.com T he Travelers Champion- ship announced that it will be welcoming golfers and fans to this year's tournament in June to a more challenging course and upgraded venues and concession areas. The Travelers Championship said this year's tournament will take place the week of June 17-23, as one of the PGA Tour's "signature events," which guarantees it a field of top golfers. It's the only PGA Tour event scheduled in the Northeast this year. The TPC River Highlands course in Cromwell has undergone "compet- itive enhancements" to select holes, with new tee boxes, narrower fair- ways and smaller greens, Travelers Championship said. "This year marks another tremen- dous milestone for our tournament, and we couldn't have become a PGA Tour Signature Event without the commitment of our title sponsor, Travelers, and everyone in the community who supported us along the way — from our corporate partners to volunteers and charities," said Travelers Championship Tour- nament Director Nathan Grube. "We've stayed focused on making our event better each year, and there are several new features in store for players and spectators alike." The tournament's 2024 field is expected to include between 70 and 80 players, with the PGA Tour estab- lishing eligibility criteria for signature events based on performance. There will be no cut after two rounds, which means the entire field of players will compete in all four rounds, Travelers Championship said. Last year's tournament, won by Keegan Bradley, was designated as one of the PGA Tour's higher-tier "designated events," and featured the top eight players in the Official World Golf Ranking, and 38 of the top 50 players. Last year's purse, or the amount of money set aside for competing players, was $20 million; $3.6 million went to Bradley. The purse will be the same for this year's tournament, Travelers said.
