Maine Development Foundation in Hallowell named its "2023 Champion Award" winners. e "William F. King, Jr. Downtown Champion Award" was presented to Phyllis Young, retired board chair, Heart of Ellsworth; the "Champion of Education and Workforce Development" went to Inclusion Maine and Executive Director Humza Khan; the "Champion of Rural Economic Development" was awarded to LP Building Solutions and Ryan Bushey, director of human resources and safety; the "ICL Distinguished Alum Award" went to Tony Payne, vice president of external affairs, MEMIC, and a member of ICL's Beta Class; the "Kenneth M. Curtis Leadership Award" recipient was Claudette Ndayininahaze, execu- tive director of In Her Presence; and the University of Maine System won the "President's Award." The Maine Department of Marine Resources selected Amanda Ellis as its "Manager of the Year" and Rebecca Peters as its "Employee of the Year." Ellis is director of the department's aquaculture division while Peters is a scientist in the department. Preti Flaherty, a law firm in Portland, said 10 of its Maine-based attor- neys were selected for recognition by "Super Lawyers," including five "Rising Stars." Looking for exciting business events?
