Congratulations to Avangrid on resuming construction
of the New England Clean Energy Connect, a
transformational transmission project supporting
New England's clean energy future. By delivering clean
hydropower to the New England grid around the clock,
the project will increase the grid's reliability, lower
electricity rates, and significantly reduce greenhouse
gas emissions across New England.
Pierce Atwood is pleased to have partnered with Avangrid
every step of the way, from preparing and submitting the
project proposal to negotiating key agreements, procuring
required federal, state, and local permits and approvals, and
ultimately defeating in court two ballot initiatives targeting
the project. These accomplishments have cleared the way
for Avangrid to complete the project for the benefit of
Maine and New England.
