TransAct, a publicly traded company, offers soware-driven technology and printing services, including its Epic Edge casino printer. e orders are expected to be delivered over the first three quarters of 2023. e casino operator's orders mark a 300% increase from 2022, TransAct said. Lake Compounce announces new floating stage Lake Compounce in Bristol plans to debut a new floating stage during next year's season. e new attraction will debut on Memorial Day weekend next May. e stage on the lake will host the park's lineup of live entertainment and music, according to park officials. Lake Compounce is currently hosting its Holiday Lights festival through Dec. 31. is year is the program's 10th season and longest yet, park officials said. Infinant Health launches new Norwalk HQ A company focused on babies' well- being, Infinant Health, recently opened its new executive global headquarters in Norwalk. e company hosted a ribbon-cutting for the headquarters, at 383 Main Avenue, Suite 705, in late October. Infinant Health now has bicoastal operations, as it also has a research and innovation institute in Davis, California. Formerly known as Evolve Biosystems, the company had a West Coast start. Kaile Zagger, the company's CEO, is a Westport resident. Infinant Health is focused on the role of human milk on development. It discovered B. infantis EVC001, a natural bacterial strain, which the company indicates is key to infants having a healthy microbiome and to their immune health. Its product Evivo is a probiotic for babies. Green chemistry firm debuts rainbow of cosmetic colorants Woodbridge-based P2 Science recently announced a new product line of pigment dispersions or colorants to be marketed under the name CitroSperse. Developed in collaboration with American Colors Inc. of Ohio, the 10 colorants are part of P2's Citropol platform, derived from upcycled forestry byproducts. e new colorants can be used in cosmetic and personal-care products and have a "similar sensory profile to silicones," P2 said in a promotional video. e line includes various shades of black, yellow and red, along with Titanium White and Ultramarine Blue. Bio-Techne opens new manufacturing facility in Wallingford Biotech company Bio-Techne has opened a new 52,000-square-foot production and manufacturing facility in Wallingford, doubling the size of its existing facility. e expansion increases the company's production capacity for its immunoassay cartridge to 500,000 per year – five times the current level. e cartridges are for the Ella Automated Immunoassay System, which allows researchers to measure molecules in blood and other biological materials. Biomarkers are distinctive biological characteristics that can be discovered and measured in parts of the body like the blood, serum or tissue. ey may be a sign of normal or diseased processes in the body. Ella Automated Immunoassay System is manufactured by ProteinSimple, a brand of Minneapolis-based Bio- Techne. e new facility, an addition to its existing site at 2 Barnes Industrial Park Road, is fully operational, the company said. Keurig Dr Pepper invests $50M in CT-based Athletic Brewing Co. A multinational beverage company has invested $50 million in nonalcoholic cra beer maker Athletic Brewing Co., based in Stratford. Keurig Dr Pepper Inc., which is publicly traded on the NASDAQ, announced it has purchased a minority stake in the growing brewery. KDP has been moving into emerging beverage categories, recently acquiring nonalcoholic, ready-to-drink cocktail brand Atypique. KDP's equity stake in Athletic Brewing is comparable to other lead investors, including TRB Advisors and Alliance Consumer Growth, the company said. Haven Hot Chicken to open 4th restaurant, in North Haven New Haven-hatched sandwich chain Haven Hot Chicken will open a fourth location, planned for North Haven. e new restaurant is slated to open at 146 Washington Ave., next year in a 1,200-square-foot storefront near an Interstate-91 interchange and across the street from McDonald's and Popeye's franchises. Like the chain's other locations, the new Haven Hot Chicken will offer limited on-site seating and be set up for online ordering, pickup and delivery. e chain's third outlet is slated to open soon in Norwalk, according to a company statement. A second Haven Hot Chicken opened in Orange in June. e original Haven Hot Chicken location, at 21 Whitney Ave., recently celebrated two years in business.
