Judy Akers, Poland town clerk, received the "2022 Ethel N. Kelley Award" from the Maine Municipal Association. e U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation announced that Brandi Meisner, vice president of operations at Mid-Maine Chamber of Commerce in Waterville, was selected to participate in the seventh cohort of its Business Leads Fellowship Program. Mindy Maheu and Martha Wentworth, per- sonal insurance account executives with GHM Insurance in Waterville, earned the "Safeco Insurance Award of Excellence." Preti Flaherty, a law firm in Portland, said six of its Maine-based attorneys were selected for recognition as "2022 New England Super Lawyers" and six others were named "2022 New England Rising Stars." Husson University's College of Business announced that it was granted a reaffirmation of specialized busi- ness accreditation for several of its business-related degree programs by the Board of Commissioners of the International Accreditation Council for Business Education. Caleb Johnson Studio in Portland received a "Design Excellence" award for the residential project, Pieri Pines, while Simons Architects in Portland also received a "Design Excellence" award for the commercial proj- ect, Waynflete Lower School, from the New England Chapter of the American Institute of Architects. e U.S. EPA recognized two individuals and one organiza- tion in Maine at its virtual 2022 Environmental Merit Awards. Melanie Loyzim, commissioner of the Maine Department of Environmental Protection, was named the "Ira Leighton In Service to States Award" winner; Ed Bassett, Passamaquoddy Tribe – Pleasant Point in Perry, was pre- sented a "Lifetime Achievement" award; and the Maine Compost School in Augusta was recognized Looking for exciting business events?
