Nissa Wrightson, MS, CADC, Clinical Supervisor, AdCare Hospital
Employee of the Month for August 2022 (pictured with Dr. Buivydas,
CEO) was chosen by her peers for "being a dedicated employee who
supports the counseling, placement and case management teams as
needed. Nissa is always optimistic and goes above and beyond for
patients, working very hard at what she does!"
Nissa joined AdCare in 2019 as a rehab clinician with prior supervisory
and director experience in the treatment field. "I knew of AdCare's
clinical reputation and wanted to work directly with patients again,"
said Nissa, who appreciates the opportunity AdCare Hospital gave her
to do so. Nissa is also grateful for the chance to fill in at Sunrise House,
an AAC facility in Lafayette, NJ, where she led many groups and helped
boost morale during a challenging time. A clinical supervisor for nearly a
year, Nissa says she is happy in her new role at AdCare!

PROGRAM SPOTLIGHT: Integrating animal therapy into
treatment at AdCare Hospital is one of many holistic health
practices AdCare uses to support patient recovery, according
to Executive Director of Inpatient Services, Andrea Dayotas,
MA, CAGS, LMHC.
For many patients, having a dog on the unit provides a sense
of calm comfort, safety and pleasure while reducing stress and
the effects of stressful situations.
AdCare Hospital also provides other therapeutic
enhancements such as: non-denominational church services
and spirituality groups, music therapy with drums and
percussion, recovery Yoga and Mindfulness, art therapy and
men's, women's and co-occurring groups.
