McGarrity is vice chair of the firm's diver- sity, equity + inclusion committee and past president of the Connecticut Hispanic Bar Association (CHBA), who has received mul- tiple awards for contributions to diversity in the profession. Geoff Matous is president and chief com- mercial officer of Wellinks, a digital health company offering the first-ever integrated, COPD management solution. Matous guided the company's evolution from its original medical device focus and helped develop its current vision in digital health. He oversees the company's growth strategy, sales, marketing and business development activities. Matous has also held various commercial roles in the medical device and technology field. Previously, he was a district sales manager at Medtronic in the company's What's been your biggest professional accomplishment so far in your career? My biggest accomplishment is making partner at the law firm and co-founding a successful professional women's networking group that supports and empowers women through personal and professional connections. I've benefited from Robinson+Cole's supportive and collaborative environment that facilitated my professional development opportunities and encouraged me to develop innovative networking strategies. How are you involved in the community? I currently serve on the advisory committee for a small nonprofit working with at-risk youth. I also spent six years on the Harriet Beecher Stowe Center board of directors. I'm the past president of the CHBA, which gained national recognition by the Hispanic National Bar Association during my tenure. What do you like to do outside of work? My family loves camping. We often camp in remote areas like Hermit Island, Maine and are frequently joined by friends. We spend our time swimming, biking, hiking and cooking meals over a fire pit. Why do you deserve to be a 40 Under Forty? • Named a 2021 "Go-To Thought Leader" by the National Law Review, I'm a sought- after author with multiple publications. • Received Robinson+Cole's Pro Bono Service Award for my work with disabled veterans and I'm a dedicated volunteer of the Pro Bono Partnership. • Presented with CHBA's Recognition Award for my leadership within the Connecticut Hispanic legal profession. Brain Therapies business. What's been your biggest professional accomplishment so far in your career? My biggest accomplishment is hearing about the positive impact that the innova- tions we build and bring to market have had on our patients and their families. How are you involved in the community? Born and bred in Connecticut, I serve on the Northeast Region Leadership Board of the American Lung Association, advocating for issues related to lung health. I'm also a local startup mentor, working with com- panies through CTNext and the University of Connecticut, advising on topics like company formation and commercialization. What do you like to do outside of work? Spending quality time with my better half and our baby girl is always my favorite downtime activity and I love to stay active through golf, cycling and lots of walks in our state parks. I'm also a big reader and recently discovered the Noah Webster Library in West Hartford. Why do you deserve to be a 40 Under Forty? • President and chief commercial officer of Wellinks, a healthcare company offering the first-ever integrated, virtual COPD management solution. • Founding member of IMPACT, a group hosted by the Digital Medicine Society that pro- motes the expanded access to virtual care. • Board member for the Northeast Region Leadership Board of the American Lung Association. • Co-chair of the MedTech Advisory Committee alongside leaders from Trinity College, Hartford HealthCare, UConn and Launc[H].
