It takes 80 to 100 years before pine trees are mature, making our business a long-term commitment. Our sawmills run with zero-waste of raw materials, as 100% of the log fiber is utilized. Sawdust by-products from our milling operations are used in place of fossil fuels, and we generate power through turbines, utilizing otherwise wasted steam from our dry kilns. Our team is able to source and supply FSC Certified products, along with building materials that meet the rigorous Living Building Challenge requirements. In 2020 I took a leap of faith and applied to Hancock Lumber knowing absolutely nothing about timber manufacturing. From day one my coworkers and managers have given me opportunities to advance my knowledge and skills, allowing me to grow. Hancock's culture and trust in me proves that when a company cares about its employees it creates a supportive atmosphere anyone would want to join. I can't wait to see what the future holds for me!
