Franklin Memorial Hospital in Farmington was named to Newsweek's 2021 list of "Best Maternity Care Hospitals" for providing exceptional care to mothers, newborns and their families. Hospitals were recognized based on the results of the 2020 Leapfrog Hospital Survey conducted by e Leapfrog Group, an independent nonprofit that monitors the quality and safety of hospitals. RE/MAX Shoreline in Portland announced that Dawn Marston, John Robinson, Mary Roy and Karen Thompson received the "100% Club Award" for 2020 and Jeremy Bennett, Richie Garrett and Jane Leonard were presented the "Executive Club Award" for 2020. Preti Flaherty, a law firm in Portland, announced that David Van Slyke and Jeffrey Thaler were named to "2021 Lawdragon 500 Leading U.S. Environmental and Energy Lawyers" list. Van Slyke is managing partner and a former chair of the firm's environmental practice group while aler is an energy and environmental lawyer and a mem- ber of the New England Aqua Ventus floating off-shore wind project team. Thomas College in Waterville said the team of students Tiffany White, Steele Young and Chris Paradis were named the "Society for Advancement of Management International Collegiate Business Skills Champions" in the open division at the 76th Annual Society for Advancement of Management International Business Conference. Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor announced that its structural heart team completed their 500th Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement procedure in February. The Kennebec Valley Chamber of Commerce in Augusta recently presents its annual "Kenney Awards. Winners included Woodlands Senior Living, "Large Business of the Year;" Sprague and Curtis Real Estate, "Small Business of the Year;" Augusta Food Bank, "Community Service Award;" Gosline Insurance Group, "President's Circle Award;" and Shawn Mclaughlin, "Cynergy Young Professional Award." Caldwell's Auto Sales and Service in Fort Fairfield was presented with a "Customer Service Award" by the Central Aroostook Chamber of Commerce. e Trust to Conserve Northeast Forestlands announced that Northeast Pellets LLC, a wood pellet manufac- turer in Ashland, achieved "Forest Stewardship Council chain of custody certification." e company said it is the first such certified pellet manufacturer in the state of Maine and one of the first heating pellet firms nationally to achieve the certification.
