Nord retired as of Oct. 1, and a member of the company's executive staff took over his position. Gerben W. Bakker now has Nord's former leadership role at the Shelton- based manufacturing company, which makes electrical and electronic products. Hubbell reported $4.6 billion in 2019 revenues, and it has facilities around the globe. To help ease the transition, Nord will continue to serve as executive chairman of the company's board of directors until May. Bakker has been with the company for more than three decades, starting in 1988 as a manufacturing engineer and rising through the ranks. Prior to his promotion, he served as president and chief operating officer, a position he has held since 2019. Murtha Cullina elects new managing partner Area law firm Murtha Cullina has picked Andy I. Corea to serve as its managing partner as of Jan. 1. The firm has offices in New Haven, Stamford and Hartford, as well as locations in New York and Massachusetts. Corea will take over for Jennifer Morgan DelMonico, who has served as managing partner since 2015. In the new year, she will resume her full-time practice representing corporate clients in product liability and commercial litigation disputes. Corea, a Woodbridge resident, currently serves as chair of the firm's business and finance department, and he is a partner in its intellectual property practice group. Corea is an adjunct professor at the University of Connecticut School of Law. He received his law degree T H E L O O P C-SUITE David G. Nord from the George Mason University School of Law and B.A. from the College of William and Mary. Avangrid names two new executives Avangrid, an energy company based in Orange, has named Brian Harrell chief security officer and vice president of physical and cybersecurity, and Charlotte Ancel vice president of regulatory strategy for Avangrid Networks. Harrell will lead a comprehensive information, critical infrastructure and cybersecurity program across Avangrid's eight network companies, which include United Illuminating and Southern Connecticut Gas Co. in Connecticut. Harrell previously served as assistant secretary for infrastructure protection at the Department of Homeland Security and as assistant director at the U.S. Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency. Ancel will lead the development, direction and implementation of regulatory strategy and policy across the company. Ancel is replacing Steve Adams, who retired in late August following a 25-year career. Ancel previously worked at ChargePoint, where she served as vice president of utility solutions. Lawyer named to commission on judicial pay Attorney Gary Klein of Stamford has been appointed to a four-year term on the Connecticut Commission on Judicial Compensation. The bipartisan commission evaluates the proper compensation for judicial officers in the state and issues recommendations to the General Assembly, which will then set judicial compensation for a four-year period. Klein is a partner with the law firm of Carmody Torrance Sandak & Hennessey, based in its Stamford office. Reynolds + Rowella welcomes new tax partner CPA Patrick Butler has transitioned into the role of tax partner with Reynolds + Rowella, a certified public accounting and business advisory firm in Fairfield County.
