BUILDING A DIVERSE & INCLUSIVE WORKFORCE
people
you.
To the greater Hartford business community,
ConnectiCare was founded in 1981 by a group of doctors looking to provide Connecticut
residents with an elevated health plan experience. That desire was for all Connecticut
residents. For the last forty years, our mission has remained the same; to create healthier
futures for our customers and communities. When we look at our customers, we see
ourselves, our neighbors, and our families.
Our team reflects the people we serve. We believe having team members as diverse as our
customers allows us to consider differing viewpoints and perspectives. This helps inform
product development and service models.
Creating an environment where everyone is comfortable being themselves, voicing their
opinions, and having access to opportunities and resources is our definition of inclusion.
We believe all team members should be free to present their authentic selves.
Having a diverse and inclusive workforce is essential to our business. To keep us moving
forward, we have implemented a Diversity and Inclusion Council. This group works to identify
diversity and inclusion barriers that impact recruitment, retention, advancement, training, and
critical assignments. They act as change agents for the organization and its partnerships —
challenging the status quo.
While we are proud of the progress we have made, we know there's more to do. Our company
will continue to evolve to reflect our customers. Just as our mission, our values of caring,
diversity, and partnership will remain steadfast.
Sincerely,
Eric Galvin
