But Bowdoin has since decided it does not have a use for the 144 acres. e only option was to transfer the land back to the authority. In turn, the MRRA is required to develop a plan for reusing the parcel. Portland-based Brickell Men's Products, which produces grooming and skin care items, ranked highest among Maine companies for the second year in a row. Brickell was No. 133, with three-year revenue growth of 2,774%, after ranking No. 76 nationally in 2019, based on growth of 4,208%. Inc. ranks the companies annually according to the per- centage of their self-reported revenue increase over the previous three years. To make the list, businesses must have had revenue of at least $2 million in the most recent year, and be privately held, independent companies, not subsidiaries or corporate divisions. While nine companies returned to the Inc. 5000 being ranked at least once before, there were three first-time honorees: Mast Landing Brewing; Origin, a manufacturer of athletic apparel; and Octane Marketing, an automotive marketing firm. Among the returning companies this year, Tilson is the Maine company with the longest history of Inc. 5000 appear- ances. The technology infrastructure services firm earned its 10th consecutive spot on the list, and is one of only 113 companies with that many rankings — or less than 1% of all honorees in the 39-year history of the Inc. 5000. Covetrus turnaround aided by sale of subsidiary Portland-based Covetrus Inc. (Nasdaq: CVET) appears to be turning around recent financial performance, reporting an uptick in second-quarter revenue and earnings. The animal-health technology and services company, which struggled last year amid leadership changes and recorded a widening net loss earlier this year, recorded net sales of $1.03 billion, an increase of 2% year-over-year for the three months ended June 30. Covetrus' net income was $54 million for the quarter, or 40 cents per share, compared to a net loss of $10 mil- lion, or 9 cents per share, in the second quarter of 2019. For the first quarter of 2020, the company reported a loss of $33 million. Covetrus said the "primary driver" of Q2 earnings was a $70 million after-tax gain on the sale of a European sub- sidiary, Scil Animal Care Co. In addition, organic net sales increased 5% year-over-year, due to growth in the company's prescription management and supply chain businesses. designed by landscape architect Todd Richardson.
