Sergi, who was appointed to the board in 2014, was a longtime educator, and served as Connecticut's Commissioner of Education and the first CEO of the Connecticut Science Center. Gregory Muccilli was promoted to partner at Hartford law firm Shipman & Goodwin LLP, focusing on real estate development, commercial financing, commercial leasing and land-use counseling. Muccilli counsels companies and developers in the acquisition, financing, development, leasing and disposition of commercial, mixed- use and multi-family residential properties. Middletown-based Liberty Bank hired three commercial bankers in a push to expand its presence in Connecticut and enhance its credit risk function. Dan Flynn will serve as senior vice president and chief credit risk officer; Stephen Roche will take the role of senior vice president and regional manager, commercial banking covering Greater Hartford; and Rick Rabideau is now first vice president and relationship manager in commercial banking, covering northern Connecticut up to the Massachusetts border. Brendan O'Brien was hired as a senior manager in the audit department at Glastonbury certified public accounting firm MahoneySabol, where he will assist the audit department in managing financial statement audits, reviews and compilations. O'Brien previously held the position of audit senior manager at Deloitte in Hartford. The United Way of Central and Northeastern Connecticut announced three new hires. Annie Sommers Fazzino has joined as a community engagement and marketing manager; Lauren Pereira is now manager of the Women United program; and Tiauna Laing will serve as finance manager.
