wbjournal.com | January 6, 2020 | Worcester Business Journal 7 Hologic completes $205M sale of $1.7B division Hologic, Inc, the Marlborough medical technology company, announced Dec. 30 it completed the $205-million sale of its Cynosure medical aesthetics division to an affiliate of New York City investment fund. Hologic received net cash proceeds at closing of $142 million. e new owner of the division is the investment firm Clayton, Dubilier & Rice, which specializes in tran- sitioning non-core corporate divisions and family enterprises to new ownership. Hologic acquired Cynosure for $1.65 billion in 2017, and Hologic CEO Steve MacMillan said the unit significantly underperformed expectations. Two Worcester restaurants close Two Worcester restaurants, a newcomer and a longtimer, have closed: C'Mondz Restaurant on Shrewsbury Street and Wild Willy's Burgers on West Boylston Street. C'Mondz opened in July, taking the place at 156 Shrewsbury St. of Meze Estiatorio aer the Greek restaurant moved. Wild Willy's, which was located near the Greendale Mall for roughly a decade, closed in December aer first posting a note on its front door saying it was closed unexpectedly because it ran out of food. e restaurant has not reopened. Bowditch managing partner named Worcester chamber chairman Robert Cox, managing partner of Worcester law firm Bowditch & Dewey LLP, has been elected chairman of the Worcester Regional Chamber of Com- merce. His two-year term began in January. As chairman, Cox will lead the chamber's 2,100 members in 35 cities and towns in Central Massachusetts. He succeeds Kate Sharry, the head of Northeast regional operations for Illinois insurance firm Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. Sharry was the third woman ever to lead the chamber board. Timothy Murray, president and CEO of the Worcester chamber, said Cox's knowledge of Greater Worcester and deep community roots will provide guidance on the group's mission and operations. Other chamber officers for 2020 include vice chair Christine Cassidy, chief commu- nications officer, Fallon Health; Treasurer Satya Mitra, president and CEO, Guru Tax & Financial Services; and Clerk Eric Torkornoo, vice president, TD Bank.
