Stronger communities, one neighbor at a time yccac.org In 2017… • There were 10 Head Start and Early Head Start sites, 13 Head Start classrooms, 6 Early Head Start classrooms, and 1 Early Head Start home-based option. 87% of Head Start children met or exceeded school readiness standards in Social Emotional Development. • YCCAC's WIC program, serving approximately 3,400 individuals, provided nutrition counseling, vouchers for healthy foods, breastfeeding support and pumps if necessary, referral to other resources, and educational materials. 47% of all infants born in York County are supported by WIC. • Nasson Health Care, York County's only Federally Qualified Health Center, provided health services — primary medical, dental and behavioral care — to 4,500 York County residents. • YCCAC's Transportation Services had 1,164 unduplicated riders. There were 59,023 bus trips and 18,984 volunteer driver trips, totaling 1,208,165 miles. • The Economic Opportunity Department, with programs focused on financial wellness, helped 405 York County families receive a total of $970,737 in refunds through free tax prep services. • Energy Services helped 2,793 York County house- holds receive LIHEAP benefits, averaging $670 per household. Of these households, 22% included young children, 31% included a disabled person, and 32% included an elderly person. • YCCAC's Weatherization Services provided 249 homes, covering all 29 of the county's towns and cities, with energy conservation improvements, which will produce an average annual energy cost savings of $400 per home. • More than 420 volunteers provided 30,517 hours of service to YCCAC, which translates into roughly $736,680 in donated time and labor, and would equal the work of 18 full-time hourly employees.
