22 Hartford Business Journal • June 25, 2018 • www.HartfordBusiness.com Community Comcast NBCUniversal awards scholarships to high school seniors Comcast NBCUniversal awarded $53,000 in scholarships for the 2018-19 school year to 44 Connecticut students as part of its annual Leaders and Achievers scholarship program. The program, funded by the Comcast Foundation, is a one-time, $1,000 scholarship awarded to high school seniors for their community service, academic performance and leadership skills. Latinas & Power Symposium gathers local professionals The 15th annual Latinas & Power Symposium was held on May 17 at the Hartford Hilton. Nearly 500 attended the sold-out event, which featured workshops, seminars and panels focused on career growth, networking and financial wellness. Johnson Brunetti hosts blood drive Johnson Brunetti Retirement & Investment Specialists recently hosted a blood drive at its Wethersfield location for the American Red Cross. The second annual Johnson Brunetti Blood Drive collected 21 pints of blood, and included donations from 10 Johnson Brunetti employees and family members.
