Erin Guay, executive director of Healthy Androscoggin, a grant-funded community health organization under the Central Maine Healthcare system umbrella, was recognized by the Maine Public Health Association as the state's "Public Health Rising Star." Central Maine Community College in Auburn placed third nationally and was recognized as "Innovative, Collaborative Digital Community College" in the Center for Digital Education's 2017- 18 digital community colleges survey. e survey analyzes how community colleges use a range of technologies to enhance services to students, faculty, staff and the community at large. Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor was recognized for the sev- enth consecutive year by the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association with a "Stroke Gold Plus/ Stroke Honor Roll Elite Plus Quality Achievement Award" while Maine Medical Center in Portland received a "AFIB Gold Quality Achievement Award." Tinguely started on the hos- pital's medical staff in 1984 and will retire this month while Davis joined the medical staff in 1985 and retired on May 30. e Edison Electric Institute pre- sented Central Maine Power Co. with its "Emergency Recovery Award" for its power restoration eff orts after a severe storm hit Maine in October 2017. e award is given to member companies to recognize extraordinary eff orts to restore power to custom- ers after service disruptions caused by severe weather conditions or other natural events. United Way of York County, in partnership with Kennebunk Savings, announced that Project Playback was awarded the "2018 Youth Spirit of Service Award" for its commitment to service and impact in the Kennebunk senior-living commu- nity.
