According to Southborough Golf Club, the town is constructing a new police and fire station on the site of the existing clubhouse, and the town will move the existing clubhouse to a new location close to the first tee and ninth green of the 9-hole course. A golf course architect has been hired by the town to assist in the planning and construction on a new first tee and ninth green, and a temporary tee and green will be used until the new tee and green are available for play. The name Southborough Golf Club was the course's original name when it opened in the 1890. The course was donated to the St. Mark's School in 1923, but the town purchased the land last year for the police and fire station's needs. Per the deal, St. Mark's was given about $4.5 million from the town and the police and fire sta - tion land. - Zachary Comeau Southborough course undergoing renovation Southborough Golf Club
