Half of the assessment is due to DPH on or before Jan. 1, 2019 and the rest is due by May 31, 2019. DPH officials said the exact assessment amount is not yet determined, although community water systems with 100 or more service connections, including MDC, will pay annual fees not to exceed $4 per service connection a year. Manchester Community College pres. Glickman retires Manchester Community College President Gena Glickman announced she will retire from her post after serving 10 years. Glickman, 66, will step down July 1 and likely serve as president of Massasoit Community College after the Massachusetts-based school's board of trustees announced they are recommending her appointment as its sixth president. Under Glickman's leadership at MCC, school officials said she helped grow its student support services, improve its retention and graduation rates and forge a variety of new community partnerships. U.S. women's soccer returns to E. Hartford Pratt & Whitney Stadium at Rentschler Field in East Hartford in July will again host the U.S. women's national soccer team in a four-team tournament featuring Australia, Brazil and Japan. The stadium is one of three venues that will host the 2018 Tournament of Nations. Under the tournament format, the teams will compete in three doubleheader games at three venues in an eight-day period. In Connecticut, Japan plays Brazil at 4:15 p.m. on Sunday, July 29, and the U.S. women will play Australia at 7 p.m. that same day. S. Windsor manufacturer announces Asia expansion South Windsor additive manufacturer Oxford Performance Materials Inc. (OPM) is teaming with a Tokyo- based materials supplier to build a manufacturing facility in Japan to expand its biomedical and dental businesses throughout Asia. OPM said the partnership with Japan's JSR Corp., a materials supplier in several technology-driven markets, will also advance its poly-ether-ketone- ketone (PEKK) 3-D printed orthopedic devices throughout the area. Under the deal, the companies will establish a biomedical manufacturing and market development operation in Japan known as OPM Asia. The joint effort will help the companies sell OPM's proprietary OsteoFab biomedical device 3-D printing technology and other materials technology. Virtus goes for 'The Gold' Hartford wealth-manager Virtus Investments Inc. is keeping headquarters downtown, but will relocate from its long-time Pearl Street home to the "Gold Building," one block away at 755 Main St. A Virtus spokesman said the firm announced its relocation decision May 16 to employees, many of whom are housed in the 100 Pearl St. skyscraper. The relocation to The Gold's upper two floors once occupied by United Technologies Corp. and portions of two others — totaling about 65,000 square feet — will be completed by year-end, Virtus spokesman Joseph Fazzino said. As of the first quarter, Virtus had $89 billion in assets under management. Glastonbury's Smith Brothers Insurance acquires Mass. firm Glastonbury-based insurance broker Smith Brothers has acquired a Massachusetts insurance agency in a continued effort to grow its presence throughout the Northeast region. Smith Brothers said it purchased West Springfield-based G.M. Abodeely Insurance Agency, which will continue operating in its five Massachusetts locations under the same name.
