Adler has been an advisory board member since 2016. Melissa L. Raffanello recently joined Chelsea Groton Bank as a residential loan officer, based at the bank's lending center in Glastonbury. Raffanello will work with clients throughout Hartford and Litchfield counties on traditional mortgages, first-time homebuyer and affordable lending programs, specialty financing and home equity loans. Most recently, Raffanello was an indirect lending manager with Watertown Auto Sales. Lisa Kalafus has been appointed chief nursing officer at Gaylord Hospital in Wallingford. Kalafus brings 30 years of nursing experience from St. Vincent's Medical Center in Bridgeport, where she most recently was director of nursing operations. Wendy DeAngelo has been appointed vice president of development and communications at New Britain's Hospital for Special Care (HSC). She will be responsible for aligning the HSC Foundation's mission and strategies with the goals of the hospital; managing all internal and external communications, and brand management of HSC and all of its entities/affiliates; and overseeing community services, including the HSC adaptive sports programs. Prior to joining HSC, DeAngelo was chief business development officer at Wheeler Clinic for 17 years. James J. Krouse, a CPA, has been elected a new partner at West Hartford-based regional business advisory firm BlumShapiro. Krouse is a partner in BlumShapiro's tax department in Shelton. He joined the firm in 2017 from Grant Thornton, where he served as tax director. Krouse has more than 20 years of experience serving clients in multiple industries, including privately held businesses. James M. Norton, Brad Huff and Jeffrey D. Davis, professional engineers, have been promoted in the Bloomfield office of BVH Integrated Services, a consulting and engineering firm. Norton has been promoted to associate principal, Huff to project manager and Davis to senior structural engineer. Rollin G. Schuster Jr. has been named chairman of the board of directors at Qualidigm, a national healthcare consulting think tank based in Wethersfield, and Michael Dimenstein, Brian Hinman and Eric Rosow have joined the board. Schuster Jr., who joined the board in 2015, replaces Paul Liistro, managing partner of Arbors of Hop Brook Limited Partnerships, whose term ended. Schuster is the managing principal of The Schuster Group, a financial services and employee benefits advisory firm based in Farmington and also the founder and president of The Alliance for Non-Profit Growth and Opportunity Inc. (TANGO). Dimenstein is the vice president of system compensation and benefits at Yale New Haven Health System. Hinman most recently was the chief intellectual property officer of Philips, based in the Netherlands. Rosow is CEO and co-founder of Diameter Health, a health information technology firm based in Farmington. Kristen Murdock and Heather Roy have joined Wethersfield accounting, tax services and business advisory firm Simione Macca & Larrow LLP as a senior accountant and staff accountant, respectively. Murdock has provided accounting and tax services to businesses and individuals in Connecticut for seven years.
