Bath Housing announced that Stephen Schuchert and Julie Shea joined the Bath Housing Development Corp. board of directors and that Bath City Council appointed Judy Martin, Karen Ray and Barbara Gaul as Bath Housing Authority commissioners. Schuchert is a construction administrator for CWS Architects in Portland, Shea co-owns the Mustard Seed Bookstore in Bath, Martin works for Midcoast Maine Community Action's Head Start Program and Ray and Gaul are retired. The Healthcare Purchaser Alliance of Maine in Topsham added Kurt Caswell to its board of directors. Caswell is director of health and benefi ts for the state of Maine. The Maine Trust for People with Disabilities added Barbara Schlichtman and Donna Temple to its board of advi- sors. Schlichtman is an attorney with Maine Center for Elder Law LLC and Temple is senior vice president at People's United Bank NA. Dana Jr. Award" to Nan Heald, executive director of Pine Tree Legal Assistance in Portland, and the "New Lawyer Award" to Stanley Tupper III, an attorney at Frederick, Quinlan and Tupper in Portland. U.S. Sen. Angus King was named a "YMCA Congressional Champion" in Washington, D.C., for his sponsorship of the Promoting Aff ordable Childcare for Everyone Act and his eff orts in eliminating health disparities through support of the REACH program. Children's Miracle Network Hospitals announced that Frank 107.5 and 99.9 The Wolf, radio stations in Portland, were selected as the "2017 English Radio Partners of the Year" as a result of their ongoing commitment to The Barbara Bush Children's Hospital in Portland. Hugh Keene was honored with the "2018 Ikaria Award" by SeniorsPlus, an agency on aging located in Lewiston. e award honors an individual in the community for singular and outstanding contribu- tions toward improving the lives of older adults. Keene served on the board of directors and advisory board of the agency as well as on the Frye School Housing Development Inc. board. David's Restaurant in Portland won the people's and judges' choice awards at Maine Restaurant Week's Spirit Quest event. Norman Hanson DeTroy LLC, a law fi rm in Portland, said that Jonathan Brogan became a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers, one of the premier legal associations in America. Brogan concentrates his practice in litigation. Christine Pistole, owner and spice mas- ter of Gryffon Ridge Spice Merchants in Litchfi eld, was selected by chef, award- winning TV personality, writer and teacher Andrew Zimmern to create spice blends for inclusion in his online shop. Seaboard Federal Credit Union in Bucksport honored with a "Diamond Award" from the Credit Union National Association Marketing & Business Development Council, a national network comprised of over 1,300 credit union marketing and business development professionals. e award recognizes outstanding marketing and business development achievements in the credit union industry. e American Cancer Society pre- sented Daniel Landry, an anesthesiologist with Spectrum Healthcare Partners in South Portland, with its traveling "Maine Man" trophy. Landry earned the award for being a top fundraiser in Maine last year in the organizations' Real Men Wear Pink campaign. Peggy Akers, a nurse practitioner for the city of Portland's Public Health Division, was chosen as the Maine recipient of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners "2018 State Award for Excellence." U.S. Sen. Angus King was honored with the "Congressional Champion for Children Award" by Save the Children Action Network. e award was pre- sented to King for his leadership in sponsoring the Promoting Aff ordable Childcare for Everyone Act.
