N O T E W O R T H Y C E N T R A L & W E S T E R N Hannaford, a supermarket chain based in Scarborough, announced $225,000 in fi nancial support for Good Shepherd Food Bank's efforts to connect more school-age and young children with nutritious food. CampusTours Inc., a media and software company in Auburn, an- nounced that its products, AnyMap, AnyTour and WalkingTour, have been integrated with Matterport, a media technology company, to cre- ate True3D tour experiences for its university clients. The Children's Cottage, a retail store, opened at 66 Water St. in Skowhegan. Taconnet Federal Credit Union in Winslow merged with New Dimensions Federal Credit Union in Waterville. St. George considers $2.6M waterfront development Voters in St. George will vote May 1 on a $2.6 million rehabilitation and development project at the former St. George Marine prop- erty in Port Clyde. e PenBay Pilot reported the town purchased the property adjoining the town landing, in 2015. e goal of the redevelopment would be to support future commercial and recreational activities. According to an informational document posted on the town's website from the town's March 15 meeting, the project is necessary due to limited public access to the water. St. George has 125 miles of coastline but only 13 feet is dedicated to public access. e facility would off er potential access to recre- ational and commercial boats and island residents to over 1,000 moorings (303 for Port Clyde alone). It would also provide the potential for fl oats, pump-outs, parking and boat launching. PenAir will end service to Hancock County airport PenAir, a regional airline, says it can't aff ord to serve the Hancock County-Bar Harbor Airport without its contract with Northern Maine Regional Airport in Presque Isle, which it will lose in July. e airline said it will end service to Bar Harbor in June, the Bangor Daily News reported. at leaves the Trenton-based airport little time to fi nd another car- rier with the busiest time of year coming up. PenAir had served Bar Harbor and Presque Isle since 2012. Carriers typically need 60 to 0 days to set up service at an airport. On March 20, the U.S. Department of Transportation awarded United Airlines a feder- ally subsidized contract to serve Northern Maine Regional Airport in Presque Isle with fl ights to Newark, N.J. United Airlines' service between Presque Isle and Newark will start in July, replac- ing the Boston-Presque Isle service that PenAir had provided since 2012. United's bid to serve the Northern Maine Regional Airport, at a $.7 million annual subsidy, was the lowest of six bids and estimated the airline would serve more than 31,000 annual round- trip passengers.
