Perkins joined Motorlease in 2002 in an administrative capacity and advanced to leadership roles in the customer service department and dealer relationship management area, eventually becoming general manager, fleet operations in 2015. Kevin O'Brien, Peter Nadeau, Scott Boulton, Andrea McAndrew, Dennis Scarpa and Matthew Pranaitis have been promoted at Windsor-based Fiduciary Investment Advisors LLC, an investment consulting firm. O'Brien has been named a partner and senior consultant. Nadeau has been named a senior consultant. Boulton has been named a consultant and research analyst. McAndrew has been named a consultant and research analyst. Scarpa has been named a consultant and research analyst. Pranaitis has been named a research analyst. Susan LeBel has been promoted to assistant vice president at Simsbury Bank and was recently promoted to senior relationship manager of the bank's Avon office. The role includes managing relationships with existing clients, leading the branch team and selling business and consumer products. LeBel joined the bank in 2010. Christopher J. Connor has been named director of manufacturing of New Britain's Okay Industries Inc., a components manufacturer for medical, automotive, defense and industrial markets. Connor will oversee daily manufacturing operations at Okay's two domestic plants in New Britain and Berlin, and support Okay's production activities at its Costa Rica operation. Maura Crossin has assumed leadership of the Victim Rights Center of Connecticut (VRCCT), based in Wallingford, following the retirement of founder James Clark. In her new role as executive director, Crossin, a senior attorney at VRCCT, leads a team of four attorneys providing no-fee legal services to victims of sexual assault, child abuse, elder abuse and homicide who otherwise could not afford representation. Crossin joined VRCCT as an associate in 2015 and previously worked at Driscoll Law Offices in Shelton and as a pro-bono attorney for the International Institute of Connecticut. Sharon Regan, director of human resources for Yarde Metals Inc. in Southington, rejoined the Employers Association for the Northeast (EANE) board of directors for a three-year term. Regan served on EANE's board from 2009 to 2012 and held the office of secretary in 2012 and 2013. Regan has worked at the headquarters of Yarde, a multistate metals service center employing more than 600 people throughout the East Coast and Midwest, for more than 30 years. Nancy Martone has been promoted to vice president of human resources and chief administrative officer at Hospital for Special Care in New Britain, Dr. Marcy Goldstein was promoted to medical director of the cardiac unit and Dr. Nathan Nartey was promoted to medical director of the medical rehabilitation unit. Martone, who joined HSC in 2014, leads strategic planning and administrative performance initiatives, and oversees the HSC outpatient services and the Early Learning Center. Goldstein leads a team treating complex cardiac disease, including patients who have heart failure and need IV medications. Nartey joined HSC in 2016 as an attending internist on the medical rehabilitation unit. Richard A. Leone, president and CEO of COCC, a financial technology company based in Southington, has been appointed the American Savings Foundation Endowed Chair in Banking and Finance at Central Connecticut State University. Leone, who earned his bachelor's in accounting at CCSU, will serve a one- year term teaching an upper-level course in finance and encouraging research and curriculum development. Connor SI Financial Foundation recently awarded more than $46,400 in grants to 18 Connecticut nonprofit organizations, including the Community Economic Development Fund Foundation, Creative Living Community of CT, Otis Library, Windham Area Interfaith Ministries and Hale YMCA Youth and Family Center. Main Street Community Foundation saw a record amount of grant distributions in 2017 including $1.7 million in grants and scholarships to Bristol, Burlington, Plainville, Plymouth, Southington and Wolcott residents. Additionally, the Foundation received $2.3 million in contributions and established 10 new funds. Hartford parking magnate Alan Lazowski has been elected to the board of directors of the National Association of the Advancement of Colored People, or NAACP. Lazowski, who founded LAZ Parking in 1981, runs the second-largest parking and transportation company in the nation, with 2,750 parking locations in 30 states and revenue over $1.4 billion. A UConn grad and son of Holocaust survivors, Lazowski currently serves as chairman of the board of the National Parking Association and the Chabad House of Greater Hartford. He was nominated by President Barack Obama in 2014 as a member of the United State Holocaust Memorial Council. Thirty donors raised $100,000 for The Hartford Foundation for Public Giving's Spark Funds, three new current-use funds that support children and families, workforce development and resident engagement. The Spark Fund grants were awarded to the following organizations: Catholic Charities and the Village for Families & Children and Family Life Education jointly received a total of $55,000; Capital Workforce Partners received $30,000; and The Christian Activities Council received $15,000.
