THE LISTS:
Hartford Business Journal readers are not overly optimistic about 2018, with 62 percent saying
Connecticut's economy will remain the same or decline slightly next year. Only 33 percent of readers say they
plan to hire in 2018. An even smaller percentage of readers (17%) say they will raise capital next year.
Those were some of the major findings of Hartford Business Journal's 2018 economic outlook survey, which
are featured throughout the rest of this publication.
The survey was emailed to more than 11,000 HBJ Today subscribers. The unscientific results were gathered
over a three-week period in November and garnered 261 respondents. The survey previews how the region's
economy will likely perform in 2018, and the results closely mirror many of the economic forecasts provided
by economists and business executives featured in this publication.
