S&B Financial Services, located at Saco & Biddeford Savings Institution, announced that Gary Trempe, fi nancial advisor, successfully completed the Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor Professional Designation Program from e College for Financial Planning. is program prepares advisors to assess each client's individual fi nancial situ- ation and analyze the best investment opportunities to meet those needs. Resurgam Hot Sauce in Portland and Villager Cooperative in Portland shared fi rst prize in the enterprise track and Bates College took fi rst in the college track at the third Maine Food System Innovation Challenge. Circle B Farms in Caribou and FarmDrop in Blue Hill received honorable mention in the enterprise track while Bowdoin College took second place in the college track. Educate Maine honored Cary Olson Cartwright with its "West L. Bonney Education Leadership Award." Cartwright is assistant vice president, corporate social responsibility at Unum. The Saco/Old Orchard Beach KOA Holiday Campground was awarded the "2018 KOA President's Award" and "KOA Founder's Award" by Kampgrounds of America Inc. Steve Carew of BGA Financial in Lewiston was named to the "2017 Financial Times 401 Top Retirement Plan Advisors," which recognizes the top fi nancial advisors in the U.S. who specialize in defi ned contribution retirement plans. Several awards were presented as part of United Way of York County's Community Campaign Finale. Edison Press and Xuron Corp. received the "Unwavering Award;" Marden's, Sanford, "Utopian Award;" York County Community Action Corp., "Unbelievable Community Support Award;" Hussey Seating, "Most EnthUsiastic Award;" Hannaford, "CommUnity Award;" Kennebunk Savings, "Ubiquitous Award;" and Pratt & Whitney, "SUper Hero Award." In addition, Pratt & Whitney employee Rene Thibeault was honored with a special "Luminary Award," campaign chair and board member Chris Indorf was given the "Outrageously Supportive Award" and vice chair and board member Todd Cesca was awarded the "Upbeat Understudy Award." e organiza- tion also selected Lydia Phillips as its "2017 Spirit of Service Award" win- ner for her commitment to volun- teering. Robinson Co. in Southwest Harbor announced that Lucas Dunbar earned an Accredited Adviser in Insurance des- ignation from the American Institute for Chartered Property Casualty Underwriters. Dunbar joined the fi rm's business insurance team in 2016.
