American Cancer Society's 'A Taste of Hope' raises $190,000 in Greater Hartford Over 100 guests attended the American Cancer Society's A Taste of Hope, an evening of wine tasting and food pairings that raised nearly $190,000. The event, presented by United Technologies Corp. Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Gregory J. Hayes, was the first of its kind in Greater Hartford benefiting the lifesaving mission of the American Cancer Society. Hoffman Auto Group presents Hartford Youth Scholars with a new van The Hoffman Auto Group recently donated a van to the Hartford Youth Scholars high school preparatory program. The van will provide scholars transportation to and from academic and other events. Andrea Obston Marketing Communications celebrates 35 years Andrea Obston Marketing Communications celebrated 35 years in business with a fundraiser at the home of the Hartford Yard Goats. Clients and friends of the Bloomfield-based firm contributed over $1,300 to the UGLY Fund (Unnecessary Gifts and Luxuries to the Young- at-Heart). The fund provides elderly clients of Connecticut Community Care Inc. with gifts to make their lives more joyful.
