City Manager Ed Augustus said the city has hired economist Andrew Zimbalist and lawyer and former Department of Transportation secretary and CEO Jeffery Mullan. The two are assisting with the prelimi- nary work as we explore the possibility of bringing Triple A baseball to Worcester from Pawtucket. PawSox offi- cials have already been to Worcester, and there have been ongoing conversations since then, Augustus said. Notre Dame sale falls through, demolition slated A sale of the Notre Dame des Canadiens church in Worcester has fall- en through, but the owner says it still plans to demolish the church to make it more attractive to a buyer. Developer and owner CitySquare II, said an agreement to sell to Roseland Residential Trust expired. Still, a planned demolition will move forward to enable the parcel to be unencumbered by the church and be more marketable. City Square II bought the church in 2010 from the Diocese of Worcester, two years after the church was closed. The group Preservation Worcester has led a fight to save the church. NY biotech leases UMass Science Park space New York biotech firm Mustang Bio has entered into a lease with the UMass Medicine Science Park in Worcester for a manufacturing facility. The subsidiary of Fortress Biotech, Inc., will use the facility to support the company's clinical development and commercialization of the company's chi- meric antigen receptor engineered T (CAR T) cell technology. The company and UMass are not dis- closing the terms of the lease or the size of the facility. The building Mustang Bio is renting at 377 Plantation St. is 92,000-square-feet, but it's not clear how much space the firm is leasing.
