Balskus will oversee transportation system projects involving complete streets, bicycle and pedestrian improvements, traffic signal systems, modern roundabouts, and roadway/intersection reconstruction. Balskus recently served as a traffic consultant supporting the permitting and local approvals for a planned $300 million mixed- use, transit-oriented development at the gateway to New Haven's downtown. Jennifer Johnson has been promoted to vice president of Foxwoods Resort Casino's loyalty marketing program. She had been executive director. Johnson will oversee loyalty marketing strategies and programs. She also will spearhead the direction and management of all activities related to the development, implementation and maintenance of bus operations and marketing and the overall creation and scheduling of all special events, promotions and gaming tournaments. Barbara Caruso, Mathew Greenfeld, Lauren Kelly and Joseph Palys have joined Cronin, a Glastonbury marketing agency. Caruso joined the agency's technology and innovation team as a digital project manager. She previously worked for Avid Marketing Group. Greenfeld was hired as a videographer on Cronin's creative team. He previously worked for NetRoadshow. Kelly joined the brand management team as an associate brand manager. She previously worked at Cronin as a brand management intern. Palys joined the agency as an estimator on the finance team. He previously worked as a marketing consultant. Vaughan A. Marecki has joined global executive search firm ZRG Partners as a managing director and a member of the firm's growing global insurance practice. Marecki, based in Simsbury, specializes in the insurance and financial services sectors and will work with the international team led by David Greenfield, ZRG's global practice head of insurance located in Hong Kong. Marecki brings more than 15 years of search experience after a 20-year career in the insurance and investment sector. In 2005 he established M Consulting Group, a boutique recruiting and business consulting firm focused on retirement and investment sectors within insurance. M Consulting's two other staff also are joining ZRG Partners and Marecki and his team eventually plan to team up on an office in West Hartford with ZRG staff there who specialize in the manufacturing and engineering sectors. Lisa Allegro has joined Simsbury Bank as a vice president and senior relationship manager. Allegro works with homeowners associations and property managers, providing advice and financial products and services. She works with residential and management entities throughout New England and New York. Allegro most recently was Citizens Bank's vice president of relationship manager-business banking. Nazish Nomani has recently joined the Vernon office of Kahan, Kerensky & Capossela LLP as an associate attorney in the estate planning and probate departments. In addition to estate planning and probate law, Nomani has experience with civil litigation and immigration law. She is fluent in Urdu and Hindi and is licensed in Connecticut and Massachusetts. Marrett Clunie, Gary Collins, Karen D'Arco and Jordan Fogel have joined the board of directors of Hartford-based Chrysalis Center Inc., a nonprofit that helps lower-income residents. Clunie works with Travelers Cos. as a senior tax specialist; Collins is director of BNP Paribas' ethics and compliance management division, and is chairman of the Intermediate Holding Company's financial oversight group; D'Arco is the pharmacy manager at Beacon Prescriptions; and Fogel is vice president of regional commercial real estate for United Bank. Kristina Galligan has been appointed alumni career development officer at Quinnipiac University and will be responsible for creating a career development program for the university's 50,000 alumni. Galligan has more than eight years of experience in higher education, including four years in career development. Most recently, she worked as senior career adviser and managed employer relations at DeVry University.
