www.HartfordBusiness.com • November 7, 2017 • GIVING GUIDE • Hartford Business Journal 31 Based on universal Jewish values, the Mandell JCC is a central gathering place for the community, and welcomes individuals and families of all backgrounds, beliefs, ages and stages of life. People come to us for many reasons: preschool, fitness, summer camp, cultural arts and social programs. Our Partners Program provides local businesses with opportunities to connect to the JCC community and take advantage of a myriad of benefits and recognition programs. GOALS • Our recent $7 million renovation has provided the Mandell JCC with new opportunities to welcome groups and businesses to use our facilities for parties, events, outings, meetings and seminars — all at great value and service. Spaces for 8 to 800 are available. • The growth of our two newest ventures — the Mandell JCC Fitness Center at Saint Francis in Hartford and the Mandell JCC Valley Sports & Community Center in Canton — offer increased engagement of the community in fitness and recreational programs and broader exposure of our business partners in these areas. • We are exploring opportunities to increase usage and extend the seasons of our summer facilities, Camp Shalom in Windsor and The Swim & Tennis Club in Bloomfield. • The results of the bi-annual Benchmarking program with the JCC Association of North America provides valuable feedback from our members and helps to determine ways in which we can continually improve the JCC's service to the community. FUNDRAISING EVENTS/OPPORTUNITIES The Mandell JCC Scholarship Golf Tournament is our primary corporate event, held each July at the Tumble Brook Country Club. The event raises funds that support the programs and services of the JCC and provide financial aid to families and individuals, helping to ensure that no one is denied access to the JCC because of inability to pay. New corporate sponsors join the Tournament each year and everyone enjoys a day of great golf, food and camaraderie. The Big JCC Raffle is a unique annual fundraiser in which every ticket purchased comes with a selection of valuable coupons to some of the finest restaurants in the area as well as a chance to win an array of prizes, including a $25,000 gift certificate to Hoffman Automotive. We welcome new restaurants and prize donors each year. GIVING OPPORTUNITIES The Mandell JCC's Community Giving Circle includes individuals and businesses throughout the community who support the JCC on an annual basis. Gifts at all levels are appreciated and recognized, with many providing donor benefits that are enjoyed throughout the year.
