TOP FUNDING SOURCES Corporate Support: 34% Employee Workplace Giving: 30% Foundations: 16% Government: 11% Individuals & Events: 9% The Greater Hartford Arts Council helps to improve lives and transform communities through the arts, right here in the Capital Region. Our goal is to connect all people to the arts in our communities and inspire them to participate and invest. We do this through our United Arts Campaign, an annual, community-wide fundraising effort to raise awareness and support for the arts. Thanks to the generous contributions of area corporations and individuals like you, the Arts Council is able to provide critical support to nearly 150 local non-profit arts organizations, allowing them to serve our community with cultural programming, educational opportunities and so much more. FUNDRAISING EVENTS/OPPORTUNITIES Big changes for Big Red 2018! The Arts Council's signature fundraising event, Big Red for the Arts, takes place each March and is always an exciting celebration of arts and culture, but next year, we're shaking things up and creating a whole new Big Red. We'll have interactive art, entertainment, and, of course, great food and fun! Visit LetsGoArts.org/BigRed for details. GIVING OPPORTUNITIES Join the United Arts Campaign by: • Conducting a workplace giving campaign. Be a leader for the arts by making a personal gift to campaign. • Booking an event in The Art Room. Bring your team, or your friends, to downtown Hartford's newest creative space, The Art Room, which offers arts breaks and workshops to inspire creativity and teambuilding. Visit LetsGoArts.org/Join to learn more and join the United Arts Campaign today. VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES Share your skills and give back! The Arts Council offers volunteer opportunities through our Business Volunteers for the Arts (BVA) program, which connects skilled professionals with non- profit arts organizations that need assistance with specific projects, such as marketing plan development or financial systems review. Through these mutually beneficial projects, arts organizations receive expert advice, while business volunteers are able to contribute to the sustainability of a local non-profit organization, grow their leadership skills and give back to their community. To learn more about the BVA program and other volunteer opportunities, please visit LetsGoArts.org/Volunteer. BOARD OF DIRECTORS T he great thing about the Arts + Wellness grant from the Arts Council is that it has allowed us to develop the Accessible Art for All program. We initially had the idea to develop the program, but as a small community arts center, we just didn't have the means to do it. So it just made all the difference and really helped us bring the program to fruition. – Linda Howard-Sorrell , Farmington Valley Arts Center The Arts Council connects you to the arts in our community through programs like, Art on the Streets, which regularly brings interactive art to downtown Hartford.
